Palin: Prayers for Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler

Governor Sarah Palin has shared this message and story on her Facebook page.  As a mother that understands receiving unexpected news during a pregnancy, Palin offered these words of comfort:

Our prayers are with Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler and her family.

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) is pregnant with her first child and it's been discovered that the baby has Potter's Syndrome.  You can read more at Life News. 

As a mother I find this story simply heart-breaking.  I will join Governor Palin in praying for this family and their unborn child. 

Palin to Speak at Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network's Award Gala in Philly

Governor Sarah Palin will be the honored speaker for the 2013 Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network's Award Gala on April 5th in Philadelphia.  The organization's website provides the following information:

Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network announces the, "International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters," (Terri's Day!), which is typically observed each year on March 31, the anniversary of Terri's death. Because Easter falls on March 31, this year Terri's Day Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013. (Read below)

National Memorial Mass for Terri's Day!

This year's Terri's Day Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul located at 18th Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

The mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Charles Chaput, Archbishop of the Diocese of Philadelphia, beginning at 5:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network's Award Gala with Governor Sarah Palin

Following the Memorial Mass, there will be the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network's Award Gala, currently scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception. This dinner gala will be held at the downtown Philadelphia Marriot, located at 1201 Market Street in Philadelphia. The first "Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Award", will be presented to an individual/family who fought to protect the dignity of a loved one. More information will be upcoming.

Palin: Three Cheers for Owen Groesser

Sarah Palin gives a shout out to Owen Groesser on her Facebook page: 

Three cheers for Owen Groesser, an eighth grader with Down Syndrome who became an overnight social media star after he sunk two 3-pointers for his junior high basketball team in Rochester, Michigan. Thanks to his social media fans using the hashtag #GetOwenOnSportsCenter, he made it on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays.

This is such a beautiful reminder of what gifts from God these children really are. Too often they're not given a chance because of fear -- fear of the unknown, as any shocked parent feels--myself included--when hearing the diagnosis. But giving life a chance in these perceived less than ideal circumstances can turn out to be the greatest gift and blessing any family may ever know. Just give life a chance and see how beautiful it is. Today's world needs more of this!

Palin: Roe vs. Wade 40 Years Later

Forty years ago today the Supreme Court rendered its Roe v. Wade decision. Those who believe in the sanctity of human life and long to see America embrace a culture in which innocent life is honored and protected continue to look for a day when humanity is again deemed valuable, where we cherish even those who would be born in "less than ideal circumstances." Children are our most precious resource and remain the greatest symbol of hope God has given us. This is just one reason why the annual March for Life has been such a powerful aspect of the pro-life movement. This year’s event is Friday, January 25th, and once again a multitude of Americans will gather in Washington, D.C. to show their support for precious little ones.

Our Founding Fathers declared: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” However, since 1973, millions of children have been denied the basic right upon which all the others hinge: the right to life.

Lately, President Obama has taken to boldly highlighting children in his speeches. Using kids as the backdrop for his gun control speech, the President claimed his commitment to young ones. "If there's even one life that can be saved, then we've got an obligation to try,” he said. He then outlined why gutting our Second Amendment is the means by which he believes we accomplish this. Every law-abiding citizen’s heart is broken when children are the target of men hell-bent on committing acts of evil, and we agree that the safety and protection of innocent life is paramount.

The hypocrisy of it all, however, is that while the President publicly acknowledges the value of “even one life” when it advances his own political agenda, he fails to acknowledge as much when it comes to protecting the lives of children soon to be born. In that same speech, he proclaimed that “when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable among us, we must act now.” Well, who is more vulnerable than those who find themselves at the mercy of others to honor their existence and receive them into our world? Are these—the truly vulnerable—not worthy of the protection of which the President speaks? Why is it that their cause is never the subject of one of his lofty addresses to the nation? Has he ever even mentioned the March for Life that takes place in his own back yard and ought to be worthy of at least a scant mention? If indeed we have an obligation to save “even one life,” when will we hear our President rally Americans to stand alongside women who find themselves in these less than ideal circumstances to offer the support they need, to encourage parents to choose life, and to promote the option of adoption? Instead, he has committed himself to the most liberal of abortion agendas—so much so that as a Senator he couldn't even bring himself to support the Born Alive Act that would save the lives of babies ALREADY BORN and needing medical aid. Further, he believes taxpayers should betray their consciences by paying for his abortion agenda. This same President has stated he didn’t want his daughters “punished with a baby,” and remarked that it was “above my pay grade” to answer a pastor's question: “At what point does a baby get human rights?” Yet now we are to somehow believe that children are the priority in his current aggressive campaign against the Second Amendment?

The President continued to herald his support of children in yesterday’s inaugural speech. “Our journey is not complete until all our children, from the streets of Detroit, to the hills of Appalachia, to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm,” he said—and I agree. Nor is our journey complete, I would add, until all our children soon to be born are also “cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm.” The President, of course, did not include this, as it does not line up with his worldview or his party’s platform. See, his commitment to our children is selective. When children in the womb are on the chopping block, the President is silent. When he places the Second Amendment, however, on the chopping block, children are his focus. Never mind the fact that his latest proposals would not protect them from evildoers and would, in fact, leave responsible, law-abiding citizens less able to protect them as well.

Clearly, there is no shortage of hypocrisy coming out of Washington, and this is just one example. Americans can expect to be inundated with rhetoric and doublespeak for the duration of this administration. It is truly Orwellian. So it is absolutely imperative that we keep our eyes and ears open; don't allow yourselves to be sucked in or lulled to sleep. Our freedoms are being compromised, our common sense insulted, and our children exploited. We must be vigilant and engaged, and we must remain hopeful that a better day is coming.

Palin: Life With Trig

He’s nearing his fourth birthday. He has Down syndrome. And he greets every day with a round of applause.

Yet again, Sarah Palin takes the opportunity to remind us all that life is sacred and that all lives have a purpose.

Last week, Rick Santorum and his family offered us a reminder of what really matters. When his 3-year-old daughter, Bella, born with Trisomy 18, was hospitalized with pneumonia, Rick left the campaign trail to be by her bedside. In the middle of this very heated campaign season, many of us prayed through tears for Bella’s health and added prayers of thankfulness for a public example of someone’s sacrifice made with the right priorities.

It’s a sacrifice every parent and caregiver of a child with special needs sympathizes with. Families of children with special needs are bonded by a shared experience of the joys, challenges, fears, and blessings of raising these beautiful children whom we see as perfect in this imperfect world.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, on rope lines at rallies across the country, my husband, Todd, and I met so many of these families and caretakers, and I’ll never forget them. There was an instant connection—a kind of mutual acknowledgment that said, “Yes, these children are precious and loved. Yes, we face extra fears and challenges, but our children are a blessing, and the rest of the world is missing out in not knowing this.”  More

Palin: Lessons to Learn from Komen and Planned Parenthood

Governor Sarah Palin posted the following to her Facebook page just moments ago.  Governor Palin based this Facebook note upon the work of someone I am proud to call my friend, Adrienne Ross, publisher of Motivation Truth. 

The conflict between Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Planned Parenthood once again raises the issue of Planned Parenthood’s funding. As has been pointed out many times, Planned Parenthood doesn’t provide mammograms. So, why should a breast cancer charity feel enormous pressure to donate to an abortion provider? It’s frustrating to see Komen feel it had to reverse its decision based on political pressure. Here’s an interesting and very good take away from all of this:

 

As controversial as this entire situation has become, there is definitely a lesson to be learned here, and I want to highlight it. Planned Parenthood reportedly was the recipient of an outpouring of public support after Susan G. Komen for the Cure first announced its decision not to fund it. It didn’t take long at all for Planned Parenthood supporters to respond, as they made the decision to give from their own personal finances. This is precisely how these things ought to work. Private charities and willing individuals have every right to give to organizations such as Planned Parenthood. The allocation of federal funds, however, is a different matter entirely. More

 

Palin: Beautiful Bella Santorum

Oftentimes in our society, the least among us are overlooked, ignored, or an afterthought.   The word "burden" comes to mind and is often the chosen terminology used by doctors when presenting parents with the news that their much anticipated child will less than perfect in the eyes of the world.  

Sarah Palin, understanding these challenges but recognizing the blessing she and Todd have in Trig, reaches out to the Santorum family during their time of need. Palin's most recent Facebook note reminds us yet again that each and every life has purpose.

Thank you, Rick and Karen Santorum, for living the Christ-like example of sacrifice and right priorities. Nothing is more precious or important than the life of an innocent child. Our prayers are with Bella, a perfect child in an imperfect world.

The Undefeated Available on DVD Today!

It's been anticipated for months and now, "The Undefeated" is available today on DVD.  Personally, I am headed out to my local Wal-Mart before work to pick up five (yes, that's 5) copies.  Three copies will be used as gifts, one copy is for myself, and one I will use to loan to others so that they can see for themselves the stellar record and accomplishments of Governor Sarah Palin and her team.

Senator Lautenberg (NJ-D) on Who Deserves Constitutional Freedoms

As a resident of New Jersey, it's fairly safe for me to say that as a conservative, my values and beliefs are somewhat under-represented in Washington, DC on the Senate side of Congress.  The people (in the densely populated inner cities of New Jersey) spoke and so it goes in this great Republic in which we live.  

Senator Frank Lautenberg, a career politician, is now 87 years old and after a recent appearance at a Planned Parenthood rally in Englewood, I am seriously questioning my senator's state of mind.  In the video below, Senator Lautenberg, when talking about members of the TEA Party and Republicans, states "They don't deserve the freedoms in the constitution".  What? A desire, in this instance, to preserve the sanctity of life is undeserving of my constitutional freedoms?

While there are social and fiscal issues that I'm sure Senator Lautenberg and I would never see eye to eye on, I was at the very least, under the assumption that as Americans we would agree that constitutional freedoms are for all citizens of this great country.  I guess I was wrong.   ~Jackie~
