It's 2014 so that means mid-terms, primaries, and endorsements. Earlier today, Gov. Sarah Palin reminded the fine people of Texas that it's time to replace the permanent political class with "good new candidates who will go to Washington not to line their own pockets, but to help restore our country". Palin also reminded folks that early voting in the Lone Star State is now underway.
From Palin's Facebook page:
Texas, it starts with you!
2014 is here. The choices are becoming clearer, and the battle lines are being drawn. The GOP Beltway crowd has convinced itself that the way to maintain or retake the majority is through compromise and capitulation on important issues like amnesty, Obamacare, and the ever-increasing federal debt. They think that by making deals with a deeply unpopular and divisive incumbent president on issues that Americans oppose, they’ll somehow endear themselves to voters.
Enough is enough. The permanent political class in D.C. won’t listen. So, let’s start putting our efforts behind good new candidates who will go to Washington not to line their own pockets, but to help restore our country. It’s time to put inspiration, ingenuity, and integrity over incumbency in the GOP.
Let’s start in Texas. The lines couldn’t be clearer. Katrina Pierson is an emerging leader and important voice for the future of the grassroots conservative movement. Her life’s story is full of hardships she has fought to overcome, which taught her firsthand the importance of self-reliance, hard work, and the blessings of liberty.
A feisty fighter for freedom, Katrina is taking on a powerful incumbent who has so lost touch with the people of his district that he’s not even bothering to spend much time in Texas anymore. It’s not only his district he’s lost touch with, but also the issues important to the voters there. He used his powerful position to oppose the movement to defund Obamacare, has voted to raise the debt ceiling, and has been an advocate for the NSA intrusion into our freedoms. When asked about Katrina’s primary challenge, he said, “these things happen.” Yes, they do. We all know what happens when we come together to support a good candidate like Katrina – the permanent political class loses and We the People win! We win by electing a fighter we can depend on like Katrina Pierson. Ted Cruz calls Katrina “an utterly fearless principled conservative.” He should know. Katrina was among the conservative grassroots warriors in Texas who worked tirelessly to elect Senator Cruz.
Early voting started yesterday, Texas. Get out now and vote for Katrina. Send a message to the GOP elites on behalf of Katrina, just like you did for Ted Cruz in 2012.
And while you are out there voting for Katrina, check the box for another good conservative – Greg Abbott for Governor of Texas. Like Katrina, Greg has overcome many personal obstacles and challenges, which have made him a believer in the power of liberty and the need to defend our freedoms from the overreach of an out-of-control federal government. If he is good enough for Ted Nugent, he is good enough for me!

and more about Greg Abbott at: www.gregabbott.com
God bless you and God bless America.

As reported by NJ.com earlier this evening:
Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor, is set to become the latest conservative to endorse Steve Lonegan in New Jersey's special U.S. Senate race, The Star-Ledger has learned.Lonegan, a conservative Republican activist running against Democratic Newark Mayor Cory Booker, said his campaign will officially announce the news Thursday morning.
Palin will not visit New Jersey for the announcement, nor is she scheduled to stump for Lonegan here, the campaign said.
"She's doing a big push for me through Facebook and Twitter," Lonegan said. "It helps to ignite even more money coming in (to the campaign). It will help galvanize more attention to this national race."
Lonegan, the former mayor of Bogota, has been facing an uphill battle against Booker, a celebrity politician in a heavily Democratic state. The two are running in the Oct. 16 election to fill the final 14 months of the U.S. Senate term vacated after Frank Lautenberg's death. More

RUSH: Here's Greg in Nashua, New Hampshire. You're next on the EIB Network. Hello.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Based on what you're saying about the Republican Party abandoning a large chunk of the American population -- including conservatives -- or even being any real opposition to the Democrats on Obamacare and apparently everything else, I'm wondering whether Sarah Palin's recent gambit that if the GOP... I think she calls them the GOP brain trust on the Greta show. If the GOP is indeed abandoning her as well as a large swath of American voters, she's going independent. Palin is a prominent Republican. Even beyond what Ted Cruz or Mike Lee has said, she's broached the topic of going outside the GOP if need be, and maybe she's right on target there. Maybe she can lead the way out of this conundrum of the Dems and the GOP, apparently, being joined at the hip, at least on Obamacare and probably a lot more.
RUSH: Well, you mean by going third party?
CALLER: Yeah, or thing if... Turn the party over to her she'll go third.
RUSH: Now, wait a minute. I think I mighta missed something. Nobody is gonna turn the party over to anyone. More

Sarah Palin posed a simple question to her Facebook page yesterday and linked to a letter by Brent Bozell at ForAmerica.
Politicians. Were they lying then or are they lying now?
Speaker John Boehner, Leader Mitch McConnell, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Minority Whip John Cornyn
United States Capitol
Washington, DC 20215November 27, 2012
Speaker Boehner, Leader McConnell, Majority Leader Cantor, and Minority Whip Cornyn,
The 2012 election is over and now is the time to focus on delivering on the promises you made to the country during the campaign.
With the so-called “fiscal cliff” rapidly approaching, both sides are making opening gambits and the talk so far is alarming. You led the Republican Party for two years claiming emphatically that the tax increase on “the wealthy” that Barack Obama is determined to enact is really a devastating tax hike on small business owners that would kill jobs and decimate any kind of economic recovery. Now conservatives see daily stories asserting that the GOP agrees with the President that “revenues are on the table” and GOP elite are all over the airwaves asking if the Tea Party will care if “a few multi-millionaires pay more in taxes.” That talk is only embolding liberals to demand even higher taxes. New York Times columnist Paul Krugman and others are openly calling for a return to taxing Americans in the top rate at 91 percent. Yes that’s ludicrous, but liberals feel comfortable making such outlandish proposals because they feel you are weak enough that you will continue to surrender to evermore higher taxes having capitulated once already. They will never be satisfied. You know that.
Conservatives have one question to ask: If you now claim a tax increase on small business is the correct course of action, were you lying all along when you claimed this tax increase would decimate the economy? Because if you were not lying, you will now be willing participants in the destruction of American jobs in a time of economic crisis. This is the question you must answer, given the posturing of many Republicans in the immediate aftermath of the election. More

Much ado has been made about last week's vice presidential debate and the bizarre behavior of Vice President Joe Biden with his inappropriate smiling and giggling. Speculation about his odd behavior abounds but as I've recently tweeted:
I've got 2 words for the liberals that screamed 4 yrs ago @SarahPalinUSA would only be a heartbeat away from president ==> #CrazyJoe
In 2008, slightly fewer than 70 million people viewed the Palin - Biden debate whereas Nielsen estimates that the 2012 Biden - Ryan debate drew some 51.4 million viewers. Here's what viewers in 2008 saw:

I've had some time to reflect upon the political circuses otherwise know as the Republican National Convention and the Democratic Convention and these are just a few of my observations.
RNC
1) Clint Eastwood's speech: Either you get it or you don't and if you don't, you might want to read Eastwood's followup interview with his local newspaper "The Carmel Pine Cone".
“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood told The Pine Cone this week. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”
The only thing lacking for me in Clint's speech was the promise of a 357 Magnum in every pot!
(2) John Boehner presiding over the rule change vote: This video is a must-see and it serves as what may be the most embarrassing moment of the Republican National Convention. It seems clear to me that the "nays" are louder than the "yays" yet Speaker Boehner declares that "the yays have it". I hold the Republican Party to a higher standard so this was truly a disgraceful moment.
3) Conservative Women: I firmly believe that strong, conservative women (and a few good men) will make the difference in this country. While network television refused to broadcast some of these speeches, I would encourage you to take a few minutes to listen to their words. Especially poignant is Mia Love's personal story and speech here. Mrs. Love is the daughter of immigrant parents and a candidate for U.S. Congress from Utah. Susanna Martinez, first female Hispanic governor in the U.S., may have provided the funniest convention moment in describing how she discovered she was a Republican (starts at 5 minutes, 25 seconds). She also has a unique personal story with a record of good governing. Governor Martinez's speech is here. Delegates also heard from South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley who reiterated the "We Built It" theme and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice who recounted everything from September 11th events to growing up in "Jim Crow Alabama".
Strong conservative women scare the bejeebers out of liberals, so much so that all tolerance goes out the window. My friend, Adrienne Ross over at Motivation Truth, documented the vile blowback from hate-filled liberals in her blog entries entitled "Liberals Call Mia Love a "House Nigger" After Her Rousing RNC Speech and Black Liberals Label Condoleezza Rice an "Uncle Tom" After Her RNC Speech; Language Warning. It gives one pause when you consider the glass ceilings these minority women have shattered yet just because they are conservative thinkers and liberals disagree with their ideas about how government should be run, they are viciously attacked with the vilest of words. It's so bad that even a self-professed Democratic gospel singer who provided entertainment at the RNC was not immune to their attacks. See Liberals Heap Hate On Gospel Singer BeBe Winans for Singing at RNC. So much for the "new civility" eh?
1) The Democratic party decided to remove the word "God" from their platform as well as recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Multiple stories are here, here, and here, After a public outcry there was an amendment to the platform and by watching this video you can listen to the language of the amended platform statement. Chair of the Democratic Convention, Antonio Villaraigosa, is clearly stunned that on three different occasions the delegates deny God with their "no vote" and in the end, amid the boos, Villaraigosa declares the vote in the affirmative for the change in platform language even though it is clear that the delegates' voice vote was a resounding "no". Did I just hear a cock crow?
2) Cheering for abortion: Disguised in speeches with terminology such as "pro-choice", the Democratic platform calls for abortion on-demand, for any reason, up to the moment of birth, regardless of ability to pay. I suppose this would otherwise be known as "taxpayer funded abortions". Democratic Platform document here. Mainstream media commentary on the Tuesday night speeches celebrating abortion rights here and here.
3) Cardinal Timothy Dolan: As with the RNC, Cardinal Dolan offered his services to the DNC citing that he did not want to appear partisan; however, he was initially blown off by President Obama. It seems that Dolan's offer was reconsidered by the DNC and he went on to deliver a meaningful closing prayer. Complete text here. The average person would listen to or read Cardinal Dolan's prayer and consider it to be beautiful and uplifting, providing inspiration for an individual to be the best person they can be while being reminded of the blessings this great nation has been afforded. Dolan's prayer was apparently so offensive that NBC decided to immediately cut away which did not go unnoticed, especially on Twitter. Then, there was the "problem" of Cardinal Dolan praying for the unborn which was contradictory to the Democratic Platform (see above).
Thus do we praise you for the gift of life. Grant us the courage to defend it, life, without which no other rights are secure. We ask your benediction on those waiting to be born, that they may be welcomed and protected.
Seems innocent enough, right? Once again, haters took to the internet using the foulest of language to absolutely excoriate Cardinal Dolan for not only his prayer but his mere presence at the DNC.
On more than one occasion I've had conversations with friends and we all tend to agree that what's happening in our country is not merely a political battle but instead, there's a spiritual battle that is being waged. Pray for our leaders daily and pray that your own eyes be open to truth wherever that truth leads you.

Remember the cheers, the electricity in the air? What about the pride that radiated in the faces of her parents,Chuck and Sally Heath? Remember finding out after the fact that Palin's teleprompter screen went black at which time she was forced to continue delivering that acceptance speech and did so without missing a beat? Following is the video of Governor Sarah Palin's acceptance speech from 4 years ago. Watch it and you'll fondly remember why you started supporting Sarah Palin and still do so today.

Agreed!
From Politico:
Michael Steele said Tuesday it’s a “mistake” that Sarah Palin doesn’t have a role at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
“I think it was a little bit of a mistake not to have Sarah Palin here,” the former Republican National Committee chairman said on MSNBC. “I think she brings a level of energy and excitement that’s going to be important going forward into the general campaign… She’s the vice presidential nominee from 2008. Extend the invitation, give her a moment to speak to the delegation, to the candidate and [their] families.” More

Governor Sarah Palin was a guest on tonight's Mark Levin Show where she expressed her opinion on the machine's (RNC) power grab in Tampa today to consolidate power at the national level and take away power from the states. Palin likened the power grab to to a thump on the conservative grassroots activists.
"Stiffen our spine individually and others around us will do the same and it will be the unity we need".
