Pain: CPAC 2012 Keynote Speech

Inspiring and motivating grassroots activists, Sarah Palin took to the stage as keynote speaker for the 2012 CPAC Convention where she was not only heckled by Occupy Wall Street members but was also given at least twelve standing ovations by convention attendees.  Palin, in her own unique way, took care of the hecklers along with a little help from the audience. 

Like no other conservative, Palin gives the kind of speech that makes the listener want to hang on every word.  Never one to sugarcoat the problems our nation faces, Palin offers time-tested conservative truths to solve these problems along with a dose of much-needed optimism for the future.  Her evident love of country is clearly articulated in her impassioned words.

Palin's Celebration of Life, "Mama Grizzly" Speech

On May 14th, 2010 I was honored to be a guest at the Susan B. Anthony Celebration of Life Breakfast held in Washington, D.C. at the Ronald Reagan Building.  It was a both a dream come true and a real blessing to meet Governor Palin.  When watching Palin on television she always seemed to speak from the heart and have a kind of friendly way that never knows a stranger.  Upon meeting her in person, Sarah's warm personality and lovely smile truly lit up the entire room and her sincere "thank you for your support" meant so very much. As this speech opens, the first few words are not included but Palin is asking me and others from Team Sarah to stand as she publicly thanks us. 

Palin's speech to the Susan B. Anthony List fundraiser attendees was more personal than political.  Governor Palin talked about her own family's unplanned pregnancies, why choosing life is the right decision along with a reminder that all life has value.  Out of this speech came the "mama grizzly" analogy in which Palin describes the protective mama grizzly which rises up  on her hind legs to protect her cubs. Palin likened the women of the Tea Party to mama grizzlies citing "if you think pit bulls are tough, well you don't wanna mess with the mama grizzlies".

Remember the cheers, the electricity in the air?  What about the pride that radiated in the faces of her parents,Chuck and Sally Heath? Remember finding out after the fact that Palin's teleprompter screen went black at which time she was forced to continue delivering that acceptance speech and did so without missing a beat? I’m sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight. Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. Steele says Sarah Palin’s absence a ‘mistake’

Michael Steele said Tuesday it’s a “mistake” that Sarah Palin doesn’t have a role at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

“I think it was a little bit of a mistake not to have Sarah Palin here,” the former Republican National Committee chairman said on MSNBC. “I think she brings a level of energy and excitement that’s going to be important going forward into the general campaign… She’s the vice presidential nominee from 2008. Palin's Segment with Mark Levin

Governor Sarah Palin was a guest on tonight's Mark Levin Show where she expressed her opinion on the machine's (RNC) power grab in Tampa today to consolidate power at the national level and take away power from the states.  Palin likened the power grab to to a thump on the conservative grassroots activists. 

"Stiffen our spine individually and others around us will do the same and  it will be the unity we need".

Palin: Introduced as McCain's Running Mate in 2008 (video)

Some four years ago Senator John McCain, from a stage in Dayton, Ohio introduced his choice of a running mate for the 2008 presidential election.  Largely unknown to most of us here in the lower 48, Sarah Palin immediately captivated the hearts and minds of Conservatives who longed for someone to be their voice.  As a wife, a mother, a former mayor, and as governor of our largest state, Palin was the epitome of the feminist ideal.  She bucked the establishment in Alaska, taking on corruption in both parties and today is still a fearless leader for freedom and liberty.  Politicians on both sides of the aisle would do well to follow her example.

Governor Sarah Palin has been a steady voice for conservatism, a true "North Star" that leads and guides.  If you have taken the time to read "Going Rogue" you know that over the years as part of the Wasilla Council, Wasilla Mayor, and as Governor of Alaska, Palin has stood firm on the issues of life, individual liberty, energy independence, smaller government, and sound fiscal policy.  As chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission she blew the whistle on corruption without regard for party affiliation. How many times in politics do you hear about this kind of story?  I would say, not often enough.

During this week of the Republican National Convention I would like to feature some of Governor Palin's best speeches.  I hope that they inspire you as much as they inspire me.
