As reported by WHNT19News:
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Sarah Palin, arguably one of the most well-known women in the Republican Party in the last several years, is scheduled to visit to Madison County next week.
Dr. David Copeland, Madison County Superintendent, confirms to WHNT News 19 Palin will speak at New Hope High School’s graduation ceremony.
The event is next Wednesday, May 21 at 8 p.m. at the Von Braun Center. It is an event that requires tickets, and a limited number will be made available, Dr. Copeland said.
“What an honor for the students of New Hope High to hear such a prominent speaker as Mrs. Palin,” Dr. Copeland said. The students got the news at school on Tuesday morning.
Palin is a former vice presidential candidate, the first Republican woman to get the party’s nomination. She ran on the Republican ticket with Sen. John McCain in 2008. She also served as governor of Alaska from 2006-2009. She currently works as a political commentator and endorses various Republican candidates for state and federal office.
To maintain the integrity of New Hope’s graduation ceremony, attendance will be limited to the schools, businesses, and communities of New Hope and Owens Cross Roads that support the vision of the school and the accomplishments of the students and educators in the Madison County School District.
A limited number of tickets will be available to the community and the public on a first come, first-served basis, through Dr. Copeland’s office by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHNT News 19 reached out to the Alabama Republican Party on Tuesday morning for more insight. The staff did not confirm the appearance, but said Chairman Bill Armistead spoke with Palin recently, who indicated she selects one high school each year to visit for the commencement address. This year, she decided to come to Alabama. The state party said staff members were reaching out to New Hope High School for more details. More
Gov. Sarah Palin spoke to the attendees of the NRA Convention in Indianapolis this past weekend. Palin had some strong words in defense of our 2nd amendment and strong words for terrorists: "If I were in charge they'd know that water boarding is how we baptize terrorists."
Predictably so, the "baptize" comment has caused heads to explode but what do you find more offending, a towel and some water used to get vital information or the beheading of an American citizen? Gov. Palin had this to say in response to those critical remarks. From Facebook:
Actions to stop terrorists who’d utterly annihilate America and delight in massacring our innocent children? Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots – including waterboarding. Whatever one thinks of my one-liner at the NRA rally about treating evil terrorists the way they deserve to be treated to prevent the death of innocent people, it’s utterly absurd for MSNBC to suggest that I could put our beloved troops in harm’s way, but we’ve come to expect the absurd from that failing network. If you want to talk about what really harms our troops, let’s talk about politicians who gut our military’s budgets, or a president whose skewed budgetary priorities slash military benefits, or an administration that puts our vets on endless waiting lists for care that comes too late to help those who’ve paid the price for our freedom, or those who break bread with those who think it makes no difference how our military heroes died in Benghazi or anywhere else trying to protect America. Those actions are a heck of a lot more harmful than declaring an appropriate message our enemies should receive. If some overly sensitive wusses took offense, remember the First Amendment doesn’t give you a right not to be offended. Perhaps hypocritical folks who only want Freedom of Speech to apply to those who agree with their liberal agenda might want to consider that the evil terrorists who were the brunt of my one-liner would be the first to strip away ALL our rights if given the chance. That’s why we do whatever we can to prevent them from killing innocent people. And for that, we should NEVER apologize. Good Lord, critics... buck up or stay in the truck. And if you love freedom, thank our troops! Thank our vets! And thank those who have the brains to support them and the guts to defend what they have earned!

God bless you Sarah Palin for saying what needs to be said!

It was announced yesterday that Gov. Sarah Palin will be the closing speaker for Liberty University's Fall 2013 Fall Convocation series. At present, Gov. Palin is on tour for her recently released book, "Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas". Liberty University provided the following press release:
Palin will be introduced by President Jerry Falwell, Jr., who issued the following statement about her visit:
“While Governor Palin has visited Liberty's campus in the past, she has never appeared at a Liberty event. I am thrilled she will soon see why this university brings such hope to America. At Billy Graham's 95th birthday party she and I spoke of our mutual anticipation for her upcoming visit.”
Palin is a leading voice for American conservatism. She is the first woman and youngest person to be elected governor of Alaska and was the first female Republican vice presidential candidate in U.S. history. She is an internationally sought after speaker and has been a contributor to Fox News.
Her latest book, "Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas,” was recently released by HarperCollins and is currently a New York Times best-seller. Signed copies will be available during Convocation.
“This book is not about isolated trivialities. It's not really about gingerbread cookies, or stockings hung by the chimney with care, or the big fat man with the long white beard. It's not about a holiday at all,” Palin writes. “It's about that little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, who arrived long before hope and change became political manipulations. It’s about Christ and our ability to worship Him freely. It’s about America, and what liberty truly means in our day-to-day lives.” More

It was wonderful to see so many inspiring and patriotic Iowans tonight at the Faith & Freedom Coalition dinner. They join other hard working Americans as the wind beneath the wings of our great republic, and their hard work and activism make a difference!
Tony Lee over at Breitbart has had two articles featured on Palin's Iowa appearance, the first being "China Will Be 'Foreign Master' If America Doesn't Resolve Debt Crisis"
Saturday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin compared the United States' debt to slavery, warning Americans about the dangers of being "beholden" to China if the nation's debt crisis is not resolved.
Speaking at an Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition event to kick off the 2014 midterm season, Palin said the country's "free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children and borrowing from China."
"It's going to be like slavery when that note is due," Palin said of the debt the country is accumulating. "We're going to be beholden to a foreign master... because there is no plan coming out of Washington, D.C. to stop the incurrence of debt, is there?" More
An additional article by Tony Lee, "Americans Shouldn't Have Faith in 'Arrogant' Church of Big Government" said:
On Saturday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin blasted the "scrooges" waging a "war on Christmas" and their "zealot-like" faith in an "arrogant" church of big government run by the supposed best and the brightest that has only caused "irreparable harm" to America. <>
She said the "arrogant" church of government does not have "faith in your ability to govern yourself," so "you should not have faith in it" because "it does not have faith in us."
Speaking at an Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition dinner, Palin said "enough is enough" of the "politically-correct police out there" and blasted the scrooges waging a "War on Christmas."
Palin said Americans needed to take action to resist the "fundamental transformation" of society that many Americans "never signed up for." Echoing themes from her book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas, which comes out on Tuesday, Palin said that "religious freedom is under attack," and religion is "pushed out of the public square" and "censored." Palin said one will see the censorship and double standards "blatantly come this holiday season." More

Todd and I had a great time visiting with friends -- furry and otherwise -- in Des Moines tonight supporting the Puppy Jake Foundation. Thanks to our hosts Becky Beach and the entire Puppy Jake team for allowing us to highlight the positive work they're doing with these service dogs to support our brave soldiers returning home. It was great to visit with Sen. Mike Lee there tonight, too!
Now, hopefully Todd's been won over and will agree it's time to add another set of paws to the family! Please "like" the Puppy Jake Foundation on Facebook and visit their website to find out how you can help our vets. (And put in a good word to Todd for me... he's the one who's always said, "The more, the merrier!")
The DesMoines Register also featured a story on the Puppy Jake Foundation and entitled it "Sarah Palin uses star power to shine spotlight on Iowa service dogs":
Sarah Palin is using her star power to draw attention to an Iowa program that trains service dogs for injured military veterans – and the donations immediately started rolling in.
Palin, a conservative pundit and 2008 vice presidential candidate, cuddled several puppies from the Puppy Jake Foundation at a gathering at a central Iowa home Friday night organized so that she could meet the dogs’ raisers/trainers/foster parents.
“She was talking to her husband, Todd, and kind of razzing him about getting a puppy and how adorable they were,” said Robin Lickteig, the puppy trainer who hosted the get-together at her Cumming home. More
